A photographic tour around west Paris

Living in the banlieue, just 6 km from Trocadero and with a lot of new bike lines it is very nice to tour Paris at different times of the day. Which gives the option to try different lights.

On Saturday I rode from 8:30am for the next hour an a half. The route? From Puteaux to Trocadero, then Passy, cross the Bir-Hakeim bridge, turn south-west to Pont de Grenelle, cross to the 15th and rode back north-east along the Seine towards Eiffel tower all the way to Pont des Invalides to come back via Arc de Triomphe, back into Bois de Boulogne and back to Puteaux!

Riding fast across the Bois to get the sun rising behind the tower at Trocadero, plan that did not worked as the clouds were very low and closed. But...

Turning direction to the bridge I love more in Paris: Bir-Hakeim, I have to stop and take a picture of the building that departs from the typical Parisian Haussmannian architecture. It is a really nice and interesting depart and nothing horrible like some 70's and 80's buildings. However I could not find any reference.

Heading to Passy to cross the Bir-Hakeim bridge: the 2 points that are super photogenic in Paris in the 16th:

This area gives you many angles to take lot of pictures and capture moments, like the many brides and grooms and sometimes models and if you are lucky some movie's stars:

always expecting this place to fold onto itself...
Turn into the Île aux Cignes towards one of the many replicas of the Statue of Liberty that you can find in Paris:

From there crossed to Grenelle, and took the side of the Seine this time under the Bir-Hakeim bridge until the Pont des Invalides. I had to to stop every 50 meters to take a picture.

Capturing the coolest person in Paris: having your breakfast reading on your boat, under the most lovely bridge in town

You can spot it from everywhere

From Pont des Invalides I put a more energy on the riding back home and only one last shot when waiting for the green light.

Happy Whatever 2020! Feliz 2020, no importa lo que festejes! Bonne année 2020!

Another year goes by: 2019! It feels like mid year! And clearly it is: schools start in September and finish in July! The company I work for ends fiscal year in January: it feels more like end of year, but already starting to work for 2020! A closure of few things, and in the middle of others, and starting few other projects: continuous movement; it just feels like we are in the middle of many things!

Best for 2020!

When I realized that still I fear snakes

...and now also the sea kraits!

During the first exploration of Ilôt de Canard Eloisa run into me with something in her hand: "Look Daddy, a sea snake!" Still with jet lag, my reaction was "What the...?" Trying to remember how dangerous these snakes were, I calmed down a bit when Eloisa explained "No worries, dad, it is dead, poor snake". Then Emma getting out of the water after snorkeling the reef: "Yeah, also I spotted two sea snakes swimming away! Cool!"
